Are We Really Safer? No!

Recently the TSA put in place much more intrusive ‘security’ measures. these new measures prompted mass outrage among many flyers. Many people feel that these new procedures violate the fourth Amendment to the constitution which prohibits unreasonable search and seizure. Proponents say that if intrusive security is what it takes to make us safe then they are willing to put up with being groped. Lets take some advice from one of my favorite Founding Fathers

“He who would give up freedom for temporary security deserves neither and shall lose both.” — Benjamin Franklin

Now we all want to feel safe when we get on a plane, but the raw fact is that groping grandma is not keeping us safe and neither is taking essentially nude pictures of innocent americans. Today, just 9 years later it seems as though many Americans have forgotten how it felt on that dark day. Read the rest of this entry »

Yes They Can, But Should They?

This week the President came out and gave what seemed to many to be an endorsement of the ground zero mosque, saying that the matter was about rights and freedoms. This outraged many americans, when confronted the president said he was not and would not comment on the wisdom of the matter. My question: why not? Read the rest of this entry »
