As a young politically active woman, political apathy is something that is very disconcerting to me.
I’ve been involved in New York grassroots political activism for two years now. And it is GRUNT work. It’s not easy putting yourself out there hours at end, walking door to door to people’s houses, declaring to the world what your political beliefs are and then bracing for whatever may come your way. I’ve encountered some supporters …some opponents (die hard New York Democrats who would rather sell their soul then vote outside of party line) and of course, I’ve come in contact with those who are completely disgusted and frustrated with politics regardless of party.
